The Faraday shield (pin 12) is normally connected to local (equipment side) ground.

No load current at 230V approx. 0.1A. No load power consumption 4 – 5W, mostly from core losses.

 
With the above connections the transformer is loaded symmetrically for low external magnetic fields.
